Russian-born Denis Kozhukhin studied piano from age five, first with his mother, then with Natalia Fish, Dmitri Bashkirov and Claudio Martinez-Mehner, completing his studies with Kirill Gerstein at the Lake Como Piano Academy. He won First Prize at the 2010 Queen Elisabeth Competition (Brussels). He has performed worldwide with major orchestras, and in 2018 made his debut at the London Proms. He has appeared in recitals at the Boulez Saal, Southbank Centre, and festivals in Aix-en-Provence, Lille, Grand Teton, Lockenhaus, Tivoli, Evian and Schleswig-Holstein. This year he gives solo recitals in Berlin, Barcelona, Prague, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Lisbon and San Francisco, and appears with Janine Jansen at the Wigmore Hall, Schloss-Elmau, Zurich Tonhalle, Utrecht Musikgebouw, and Megaron in Athens. In chamber music he has performed with artists including Widmann, Rachlin, Repin, Kavakos, Renaud and Gautier Capuçon, and the Jerusalem and the Pavel Haas Quartets.
