First Prize and Special Prize Winner of the Krzysztof Penderecki Cello Competition, Astrig Siranossian has performed as soloist with leading orchestras under Daniel Barenboim, Simon Rattle and Zubin Mehta, with musical partners such as Martha Argerich, Yo-Yo Ma, Sol Gabetta, Emmanuel Pahud and Daniel Ottensamer. She has recorded numerous albums, including, most recently, Invisibles, which highlights forgotten early 20th-century French cello and piano works. Since 2016, she has been Artistic Director of the Les Musicades Festival in Romans-sur-Isère, her French hometown. In 2019, she created ‘Spidak Sevane’ to bring musical education to children in Armenia and Lebanon. Since 2024, she has taught at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris and the École normale supérieure. She was recently appointed Artistic Director of the Adele Clement Cello Festival. In 2025, Siranossian was honoured with the Ordre national du Mérite, which recognises individuals for exceptional service to the French nation.
