First Prizewinner of the Krzystof Penderecki International Cello Competition, Astrig has performed as a soloist with leading orchestras under conductors including Daniel Barenboim, Sir Simon Rattle and Zubin Mehta. Among her music partners are Martha Argerich, Yo-Yo Ma, Sol Gabetta and Daniel Ottensamer. Her solo recording with the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra received high praise and was awarded the prestigious ‘Preis der Deutsche Schallplatten Kritic’, and ‘ffff’ – the highest award from the French cultural magazine Télérama. In October 2022 she will be releasing ‘Duo-Solo’, her album of dialogue between a singer and a cello echoing each other. She frequently performs on French, German, Belgian, Swiss, Italian and American television. In 2015 she was appointed Artistic Director of Les Musicades, a festival that combines music, art, and gastronomy. In 2019 she established an education programme to support young musicians in Armenia. Astrig Siranossian plays a Francesco Ruggieri cello from 1676.
