Born into a a family of musicians in Bucharest, Razvan Popovici studied with Peter Langgartner, Jean Sulem, Wolfram Christ and Christoph Wyneken. He is founder and executive director of the Chiemgauer Musikfrühling Festival in Germany and of the SoNoRo Festival in Bucharest, and a member of Ensemble Raro. Popovici is a soloist with major orchestras in prestigious halls, recently in Bruch’s Double Concerto alongside Mihaela Martin and the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra in Bucharest. Razvan Popovici has been Guest Principal Viola in many orchestras and played with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and. He teaches at the Villa Musica Foundation in Mainz and the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp. He is a regular guest at renowned festivals such as the Lucerne Festival, Wiener Festwochen, Rheingau Musikfestival, Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival, George Enescu Festival, Rolandseck Festival, Spoleto Festival, Ferrarra Musica and Vivarte Festival in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.
