Born in Russia in 1986, Denis Kozhukhin began studying piano with his mother at age four. He continued his studies with Natalia Fish at the Balakirev Music School, with Dmitri Bashkirov and Claudio Martínez-Mehner in Madrid, with Kirill Gerstein in Stuttgart, and at the Piano Academy at Lake Como. In 2010, Kozhukhin won first prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition. He has performed with leading orchestras under renowned conductors, and in 2018 made his debut at the BBC Proms. He has appeared in recital in the Piano Series at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Vienna Konzerthaus, London’s Wigmore Hall, and Berlin’s Pierre Boulez Hall, and in festivals including Verbier, Lockenhaus, Schleswig-Holstein, and Jūrmala. He has performed with Janine Jansen in London, Amsterdam, Tokyo, and Seoul, and has collaborated as a chamber musician with Jörg Widmann, Christian Tetzlaff, Vadim Repin, Leonidas Kavakos, Renaud and Gautier Capuçon, and the Jerusalem and Haas Quartets.
