Latvian pianist Georgijs Osokins gained international attention at the age of 19 when he won the Audience Favourite Prize at the Chopin Piano competition, where his interpretations were described as ‘revolutionary’ and ‘exceptional’. He went on to appear at major venues with performances at festivals in Salzburg, Shanghai, Lockenhaus and Carnegie Hall. In 2024 he made his debut in Berlin with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (replacing Rudolf Buchbinder) under Christoph Eschenbach. Georgijs frequently collaborates with Gidon Kremer, touring Europe, Asia and the US. Together with Lucas Debargue, he was announced as the first permanent Guest Artist of the Kremerata Baltica in its 25-year history. His CD albums of Chopin’s late works, and works by Rachmaninoff, released under the ‘Piano Classics’ label, received outstanding reviews. His recording alongside Gidon Kremer of trios by Chopin and Beethoven was nominated for both International Classical Music Awards 2020 and Opus Klassik 2021.
