The Tel Aviv Wind Quintet was founded in 2009 and quickly established itself as a leading Israeli chamber ensemble. It appears regularly in major venues throughout Israel and is also extensively involved with cultural and educational activities. Recent international tours include the USA, Europe and China. An integral part of the Quintet’s goals is the performance of works by leading Israeli composers, many of which have been written especially for the group. In 2016, the ensemble released its first album, which included a world premiere recording of a commissioned work by Ari Ben-Shabtai. ‘LIVE’, the Quintet’s second album released in 2018, consists of concert recordings with pianist Yaron Kohlberg. The Quintet is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sports and is a member of the Independent Musicians Organisation of the Felicja Blumental Association. Grants include the Patrick and Lina Drahi, Ronen, Haifa Arts and Rabinovich foundations and the Israel Lottery Council for Culture and Arts.
