Sharon Cohen is a member of the Israel Philharmonic and serves on the orchestra’s management team. She has served as Principal Second Violinist of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim, has appeared as a soloist with the Israel Philharmonic under Zubin Mehta, and has performed in orchestras and chamber music ensembles at some of Europe’s most prestigious festivals. Cohen is a founding member of A Far Cry, a leading American chamber orchestra, where she has led the orchestra’s educational initiatives. She also coaches the violin section of the Israel Philharmonic Young Orchestra. Her has recorded four albums with A Far Cry, including a solo performance on its debut album. An active chamber musician, Cohen performs in the Israel Philharmonic and other chamber music series. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and a master’s degree from the New England Conservatory of Music.
