Nick Deutsch is one of the leading oboists of his generation. He has performed with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Gewandhaus Orchestra, and with other orchestras under conductors including Zubin Mehta, James Levine and Sir Simon Rattle. He regularly works with ensembles such as Ensemble Modern, Cappella Andrea Barca, and the Munich Chamber Orchestra, and has participated in music festivals in more than 40 countries. Deutsch has served as First Oboe of the Frankfurt Opera and Museums Orchestra, and as a member of the Budapest Festival Orchestra. An active chamber musician, he is a founding member of the Hindemith Quintet. Deutsch has been Guest Professor at the Conservatoire de Paris and London’s Royal College of Music, among others. He currently serves as Professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater ‘Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’ Leipzig and the Royal College of Music.
