Matan Noussimovitch

Matan Noussimovitch was born in Haifa in 1990, and graduated from the Tel Aviv University Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, where he studied under Dr. Lilach Levanon. He is an alumnus of the Jerusalem Music Centre’s David Goldman Programme for Outstanding Young Musicians, a recipient of America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships, and was an Aviv Competition winner. From 2008-2011, he served as an Outstanding Musician in the IDF. Noussimovitch has performed as a soloist with the Buchmann-Mehta Symphony Orchestra under Zubin Mehta, and with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra, Emeritus Chamber Orchestra and Herzliya Chamber Orchestra. He gave his solo debut at Carnegie Hall with violinist Hagai Shaham, and has performed chamber music with Tabea Zimmermann, Kian Soltani and Lahav Shani. Noussimovitch has been a member of the Israel Philharmonic since 2012, and will take up the role of First Viola in the 2025/26 season.
