Born to Croatian-Japanese parents, Latica Honda-Rosenberg studied with Tibor Varga and Zakhar Bron. In 1998 she won the silver medal at the Tchaikovsky Competition (Moscow) paving the way for an international career which has won her accolades for the strength, eloquence and expressiveness of her playing. She made her debut as a soloist at the Berlin Philharmonie in 1989, performing with the Deutsches Sinfonie-Orchester Berlin, and has since appeared as a soloist with major orchestras in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Tokyo and Russia. Her CDs for the Oehms Classics label include works by Prokofiev, Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky. Her recording of works by Bloch was chosen by The Strad magazine as its CD of the Month. From 2003-2009 she was Professor of Violin at the Musikhochschule Freiburg, and from 2009 at the Berlin University of the Arts.
