Katrin Spiegel began her violin studies at age five under Marina Ziskind at the Herzliya Conservatory, continuing with Chaim Taub and Roy Shiloah at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. She graduated with honours from the Barenboim-Said Academy of Music under Yulia Deyneka. She served in the IDF as an outstanding musician. Katrin is a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra under Daniel Barenboi and has participated in masterclasses with leading violinists such as Itzhak Perlman, Ori Kam, Hagai Shaham, Miriam Fried, and Ivry Gitlis, and with the Jerusalem and Emerson Quartets. She has been awarded scholarships by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and the Ronen Foundation. She played in the Young Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra and participated in the David Goldman programme for outstanding young musicians. Today Katrin is a member of the Israel Symphony Orchestra, Rishon LeTsion, and teaches in courses at the Jerusalem Music Centre.
