Katrin Spiegel began her violin studies at age five under Marina Ziskind at the Herzliya Conservatory, continued with Chaim Taub and Roy Shiloah at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, and graduated with honours from the Barenboim-Said Academy of Music under Yulia Deyneka. She served as an outstanding musician in the IDF. Spiegel is a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim and has participated in masterclasses with leading violinists such as Itzhak Perlman, Ori Kam, Hagai Shaham, Miriam Fried and Ivry Gitlis, and with the Jerusalem and Emerson Quartets. She has been awarded scholarships by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and the Ronen Foundation. She played in the Young Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra and participated in the Jerusalem Music Centre’s David Goldman Programme for Outstanding Young Musicians. Spiegel is a member of the Israel Symphony Orchestra, Rishon LeTsion, and teaches at the Jerusalem Music Centre.
