Boris Brovtsyn

Boris Brovtsyn is a fourth-generation musician. After graduating from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, he made his UK debut with the BBC Philharmonic under Rumon Gamba, and relocated to London. He completed his studies with David Takeno at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where he taught from 2010-2016. He is currently Professor at the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität in Vienna. Brovtsyn has performed with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, London Philharmonic, Warsaw Philharmonic, and other orchestras under conductors including Sir Neville Marriner, Vladimir Jurowski and Neemi Järvi. He has collaborated with Janine Jansen, Gidon Kremer, Misha Maisky and others at festivals such as Verbier, Edinburgh and Salzburg. He is a frequent guest at ‘Les Grands Interprètes’ chamber music series in Geneva and Spectrum Concerts Berlin, where he has appeared in every season since 2008. He has recorded on the Decca, BIS, Onyx, and Naxos labels.
