Winner of the 1st Prize and ‘Special Prize’ of the Krzysztof Penderecki Cello Competition, Astrig Siranossian has performed as soloist with leading orchestras under conductors including Barenboim, Rattle and Mehta, with musical partners such as Martha Argerich, Yo-Yo Ma, Sol Gabetta, Emmanuel Pahud and Daniel Ottensamer. In 2022 she celebrated the cello and voice in her latest album Due Solo. Recordings include Saint-Saen’s Cello Concerto no. 1 (2021), and the album ‘Dear Mademoiselle’ (2020), with pianists Nathanael Guin and Daniel Barenboim, a widely acclaimed tribute to Nadia Boulanger. Her recording of the Penderecki and Khachaturian concertos won many awards. Since 2016 she has been Artistic Director of the Les Musicades Festival in Romans-sur-Isère, her hometown in France. Astrig Siranossian was recently appointed Artistic Director of the Adele Clement Cello Festival. In 2019 she created the charity project ‘Spidak Sevane’ to bring education to children in Armenia and Lebanon.
