Born in New York to Korean parents, Tim Park began to play the cello at the age of eight. He graduated from the Juilliard School, into which he was accepted at age 11, and continued to study with Aldo Parisot at Yale University, David Geringas at the Hochschule für Musik Lübeck, at the Hochschule für Musik ‘Hanns Eisler’ in Berlin, and in masterclasses with Boris Pergamenschikow and Steven Isserlis. He is a recipient of the 2013 Washington Award. Park performs internationally as a soloist, and as an avid chamber musician, has been invited to the Salzburg, Lucerne, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Salon (France), Le Pont (Japan) and Jerusalem Chamber Music Festivals. Park plays a 1740 Gagliano cello.
