Born in New York to Korean parents, Tim Park began to play the cello at the age of 8. He graduated from the Juilliard School, into which he was accepted at age 11, and continued to study with Aldo Parisot at Yale University, David Geringas at the Hochschule für Musik Lübeck, Hochschule für Musik ‘Hanns Eisler’ in Berlin and masterclasses with Boris Pergamenschikow and Steven Isserlis. A recipient of the 2013 Washington Award, Tim performs internationally as a soloist, and as an avid chamber musician has been invited to the Salzburg, Lucerne, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Salon (France), Le Pont (Japan), and Jerusalem Music Festivals. Park is a founder member of the Erlenbusch Quartet since its inception in 2005. He plays on a cello by Gagliano (1740).
