Born in Tel Aviv, Itamar Carmeli studied at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance under Daria Monastyrski, and New York’s Mannes School of Music under Pavlina Dokovska. He is currently studying with Sir András Schiff at the Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin. He received scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, and is a graduate of the Jerusalem Music Centre’s David Goldman Programme for Outstanding Young Musicians. He has collaborated with artists such as Michael Barenboim, Clara-Jumi Kang, Benjamin Schmidt, Zvi Carmeli, Eliraz Carmeli, Thomas Demenga and Astrig Siranossian, and with orchestras under conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Cristian Macelaru and Finnegan Downie Dear. He received a scholarship for jazz piano studies at the Berklee College of Music in Boston under Terry Lynn-Carrington. He has performed at the Red Sea and Cambridge (Massachusetts) Jazz Festivals.
