Eran Borovich

Eran Borovich is Assistant Principal Bassist in the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim. He studied with Gabriel Vole in Tel Aviv and Rainer Zepperitz and Michael Wolf in Berlin, and has participated in masterclasses with Ludwig Streicher, Klaus Stoll, Dorin Marc, and Janne Saksala. He was a Ferenc Fricsay Fellow of the German Symphony Orchestra, and has performed with the Berlin Philharmonic, Israel Philharmonic, and Valencia’s Queen Sofía Palace of the Arts Orchestras under Zubin Mehta, Sir Simon Rattle, and Lorin Maazel. Devoted to new music, Borovich is a member of the Israel Contemporary Players, has performed with Ensemble Modern Frankfurt, KNM Berlin, and the Meitar Ensemble, and has collaborated with Pierre Boulez, Mauricio Kagel, Peter Eötvös, and other composers. He has performed and recorded pieces written especially for him. He plays a nineteenth-century Mittenwalder bass formerly owned by Rainer Zepperitz.
