Russian-born Alexey Fedorov serves as Principal Oboist of the Haifa Symphony Orchestra and is a member of the International Rachmaninoff Orchestra. From 2013 to 2022, he was Principal Oboist of the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra in St. Petersburg. He previously was a member of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra and served as Principal Oboist of the St. Petersburg Opera Theater. Fedorov has appeared as a guest musician with the Cologne and German Youth Philharmonic Orchestras. He received a bachelor’s degree from the St. Petersburg Conservatory under Pavel Terentyev and a master’s degree at the Cologne University of Music and Dance under Christian Wetzel. He has given masterclasses at the Rimsky-Korsakov Music College in St. Petersburg and the Dmitri Hvorostovsky Siberian State Academy of Arts. He has received numerous awards and prizes, including at the 21st Century Art International Competition, First All-Russian Music Competition, and Cologne International Music Competition.
