Israeli-born clarinetist Miri Saadon Shani has been a permanent member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim since 2014. She has performed under Zubin Mehta, François-Xavier Roth, Franz Welser-Möst and other conductors in prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall, Berlin’s Philharmonic Hall, Vienna’s Musikverein, and Paris’ Philharmonic Hall. Saadon Shani regularly performs with the Divan Orchestra at the Salzburg, Lucerne, and BBC Proms Festivals. An active chamber musician, she is a regular guest of the Boulez Ensemble in Berlin, performing both as a clarinetist and bass clarinetist. She has also appeared as a guest musician with the La Scala Theater and Berlin Philharmonic. Saadon Shani graduated from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University, completed her master’s degree with a specialty in bass clarinet at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, and earned an artist diploma from the Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin.
