Guy Eshed has been Principal Flutist of the Israel Philharmonic since 2013, and previously held that position with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra under Zubin Mehta, Berlin State Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra under Daniel Harding, and Manchester Camerata under Douglas Boyd. He was been Principal Flutist of the East-Western Divan Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim since 2001. Eshed has performed as Guest Principal Flutist with the Bavarian Radio Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, London Philharmonic, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Bamberg Symphony, and La Scala Orchestra. He gave a Carnegie Hall debut with the Israel Philharmonic under Lahav Shani, and has performed as a soloist in Miami, San Francisco, and Buenos Aires, and at the Salzburg and Lucerne Festivals. Eshed is a founding member of Ensemble 360, with whom he has performed with Daniel Barenboim, Elena Bashkirova, Kirill Gerstein, Guy Braunstein, and soloists of the Berlin Philharmonic.
