Nadav Cohen is a member of the Tel Aviv Wind Quintet and Meitar Ensemble. He has a particular interest in new music: he teaches in Tedarim, a contemporary music track at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, his 2018 solo debut album Animate was dedicated to new music, and he regularly collaborates with Frankfurt-based Ensemble Modern, which is among the leading new music ensembles. He has served as Principal Bassoonist of the Israel Camerata Orchestra and Paris’ Le Concert Impromptu. Cohen studied bassoon with Uzi Shalev and Maurizio Paez and composition with Yinam Leef, and graduated from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. He served as an Outstanding Musician in the IDF before continuing his studies with Ole Kristian Dahl in Cologne and with baroque bassoonist Donna Agrell in The Hague. He completed his master’s degree at the International Ensemble Modern Academy in Frankfurt.
