Semion Gavrikov immigrated to Israel from Russia in 1998, studying with Irina Svetlova at the Buchman-Mehta School of Music where he later served on the chamber music faculty. In 2013 he graduated from the New England Conservatory under Donald Weilerstein, subsequently serving as his assistant. He has performed throughout the USA, Europe, China, Russia and Israel as a soloist and chamber musician in prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center (New York), the Forbidden City (Beijing) and the Moscow Conservatory, collaborating with musicians such as Alisa Weilerstein, Itzhak Perlman, Frans Helmerson and Daniil Trifonov at festivals including Dresden Music, Cheltenham Music, Keshet Eilon and Colmar. As a soloist he has performed with orchestras including the Israel Philharmonic and the Moscow Chamber orchestras. Top prizes include at the Aviv and Clermont competitions. Appointed Solo Second Violin of the Orchestra Philharmonique du Luxembourg (2019), he previously served as Principal Second Violin of the IPO and was a member of the IPO Richter Quartet, Guest Concertmaster in Seoul’s KBS Symphony Orchestra, and lately joined the Lucerne Festival Orchestra.
