A recipient of AICF scholarships, he studied with Uzi Wiesel in Tel Aviv and with Bernard Greenhouse in the USA. As a soloist with orchestras including the Israel Philharmonic, Bremen Kammerphilharmonie and BBC Scottish Symphony, he has played at festivals including the Israel, Marlboro, Tanglewood and Dartington festivals. In January 2008 Zubin Mehta invited him to perform at the International Holocaust Memorial Day at the UN General Assembly. Zori is also a composer in many genres, and his cellist-composer anthology CD was chosen as the BBC’s ‘CD of the Week’ (2014). He has served as a juror for international competitions, given masterclasses worldwide, and is currently Professor and Head of Strings at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University.
