Ben Goldscheider

London-born Ben Goldscheider completed his studies in 2020 at the Barenboim-Said Academy, Berlin under Radek Baborák. He is the Barbican’s ECHO Rising Star for 2021/22, and makes his BBC Proms concerto debut this season with Ethel Smyth’s Concerto for Horn and Violin. He has appeared as soloist with the Salzburg Mozarteum, Royal Philharmonic, London Mozart Players and Berlin Symphony Orchestra. Ben’s first album was selected as BBC Music Magazine’s ‘Rising Star’ (2018), and Gramophone Magazine’s ‘One to Watch’. Legacy: A Tribute to Dennis Brain features three world premiere recordings including works by Huw Watkins and Roxanna Panufnik. Ben’s chamber music partners include Julian Prégardien, Elena Bashkirova, Daniel Barenboim, Michael Barenboim and Sergei Babyan. He is a member of the Boulez Ensemble and has appeared as guest principal with prominent orchestras. His 2022/23 plans include the premiere of Timothy Jackson’s Horn Concerto with the London Chamber Orchestra, and Libby Larsen’s Horn Trio.
