German-born Dorothea Röschmann was awarded the title of Kammersängerin (2017) at the Deutsche Staatsoper (Berlin) where for many years she was an ensemble member, singing more than 20 major roles. Since her debut in 1995 as Susanna she has performed frequently at the Salzburg Festival, returning in 2016 to sing Desdemona. She performs regularly at the Wiener Staatsoper, with a debut there in 2019 as Alceste, and frequent appearances at the Bayerische Staatsoper (Munich), Semperoper (Dresden), Royal Opera House Covent Garden (London) and at the Staatsoper (Berlin). In the USA she frequently sings major roles at the Metropolitan Opera, and has appeared in concert performances in New York Chicago, Los Angeles Dallas, Cincinnati and San Diego. A renowned recitalist she has appeared at leading centres including the Wigmore Hall (London), Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), and Konzerthaus (Vienna), and participated in the Edinburgh, Munich and Schwarzenburg festivals.
