Yefim Bronfman – piano

Born in Tashkent, Yefim Bronfman immigrated to Israel with his family in 1973. He studied with Arieh Vardi at Tel Aviv University Academy of Music, and at Juilliard, the Marlboro School and Curtis Institute (USA) under Rudolf Firkusny, Leon Fleisher and Rudolf Serkin. This season he participated in the 80th anniversary celebrations of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and performed under Mehta in the opening concert. In America he performed with the orchestras of New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Chicago, San Francisco, St. Louis, Houston and Dallas, and gave a series of recitals culminating in Carnegie Hall. In Europe he has toured extensively in recital and with major orchestras under leading conductors. His chamber music partners have included Pinchas Zukerman, Martha Argerich, Magdalena Ǩozenà, Anne-Sophie Mutter and Emmanuel Pahud. Bronfman’s solo, chamber and orchestral recordings are highly regarded and he has received numerous awards.
