Ori Kam – viola

Ori Kam began his studies in Israel with Haim Taub, and continued his studies with Pinchas Zukerman in New York and Wilfried Strehle in Berlin. He made his debut with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Zubin Mehta at age 16. He is the violist of the acclaimed Jerusalem Quartet, and a member of the Kam-Porat Trio, together with his sister Sharon Kam and pianist Matan Porat. In 2010 he was appointed Professor of Viola at Geneva University. He has collaborated with leading artists such as Daniel Barenboim, Isaac Stern, Andras Schiff and Pierre Boulez and appears regularly at festivals such as Salzburg, Verbier, Tanglewood and Aspen. He has recorded for the Deutsche Gramophone, Decca, Naxos and Berlin Classics labels, and with the Jerusalem Quartet for the Harmonia Mundi label.
