Tatiana Samouil – Violin

Born in 1974 to a family of musicians, Russian-born Tatiana Samouil gave her first recital at age 9, performing under the baton of her conductor father. She studied at the Moscow Conservatory under Serge Fatkulin and Maja Glezerova, and has performed widely throughout Russia. She continued her studies at the Brussels Conservatory under Igor Oistrakh, and at the Madrid Reina Sofia School under José Luis Garcia. After winning prizes at several international competitions her international career was launched. Now based in Brussels, she teaches at the Queen Elisabeth College and Antwerp Royal Conservatory. She is a founding member and first violin of the Malibran String Quartet. She recently toured with Yuri Bashmet, performing in Montevideo, Paris, Palermo, Singapore, Seoul and Rio de Janeiro. Her discography includes a wide range of recitals, concerts and chamber music. Her recording of works by Ysaÿe received the Diapason d’Or award.
