Shirley Brill – Clarinet

Shirley Brill studied in Israel with Yitzhak Katzap, in Germany with Sabine Meyer, and with Richard Stoltzman in the USA. She performed as a soloist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Zubin Mehta and has since appeared with international orchestras including the Deutsches Symphonie, Hamburg Symphony, Geneva Chamber and Jerusalem Symphony orchestras. Her awards include international competitions such as Geneva, Markneukirchen, and the ARD Competition in Munich. In chamber music she has collaborated with Daniel Barenboim, Sabine Mayer, Emmanuel Pahud, the Jerusalem Quartet and Trio di Clarone. Shirley Brill and pianist Jonathan Aner appear together as the Brillaner Duo, performing in prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall and Tonhalle Zürich, and at international music festivals, among them the BBC Proms, Radio France Festival and the Schubertiade (Austria). Following a guest-professorship at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy (Berlin), Shirley Brill is now a faculty member of the Barenboim-Said Akademie.
