Radovan Vlatković – Horn
Radovan Vlatković studied in Zagreb and Germany, winning first prize in the Ancona Premio (1979) and ARD (1983) competitions. He was Principal Horn with the Deutsches Symphony Orchestra, and Horn Professor at the Stuttgart Musikhochschule and the Salzburg Mozarteum. Since 2000 he has held the Horn Chair at the Queen Sofia School, Madrid. He has appeared as soloist with leading orchestras in Europe, Japan, and Australia. He was Artistic Director of the Chamber Music Festival in Maribor (Slovenia), and has appeared in many music festivals including Prussia Cove and Casals (Prades). He performs regularly with András Schiff, Heinz Holliger, Elmar Schmid and Klaus Thunemann and has premiered numerous contemporary works, including the Penderecki Horn Concerto (2008) conducted by the composer. Radovan Vlatković has received the German Critics Award for several of his discs, which include concertos and chamber works with EMI, Decca, Philips and Deutsche Grammophon labels.
