Paul Meyer – Clarinet
Paul Meyer divides his activities between playing chamber music, conducting and teaching. He has performed at prestigious venues such as Suntory Hall, Hollywood Bowl, Concertgebouw, Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Carnegie Hall, Musikverein, Albert Hall, Tchaikovsky Hall and the Berlin Philharmonie. He is an active performer of contemporary music. Concertos composed for him include works by Penderecki, Jarrell, Chen, Berio, Escaich, Dusapin and Canat de Chizy. He has performed with major orchestras including Orchestre National de France, Philharmonique de Radio France, Concertgebouw, BBC Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Zurich Tonhalle, Suisse Romande, NHK Symphony and Russian State Symphony orchestras. As a conductor he regularly features contemporary works in his concerts. This season he conducts the Prague Philharmonic, Shanghai Philharmonic, Hyogo Philharmonic, Tokyo Metropolitan, Lausanne Chamber, Geneva Chamber and Reutlingen Philharmonie orchestras. His recent recording as a conductor with the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra features works by John Corigliano and Elliott Carter.
