Pablo Ferrández – cello

Winner of the 2016 ‘Young Artist of the Year’ International Classical Music Award,  and prizewinner at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition, Pablo Ferrández has appeared as soloist with leading orchestras and conductors including the Mariinsky, Vienna Symphony, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Stuttgart Philharmonic, Kremerata Baltica, Helsinki Philharmonic, and Spanish National orchestras under Mehta, Gergiev and Temirkanov, and collaborated with artists such as Gidon Kremer, Ivry Gitlis, Heinrich Schiff and Ann-Sophie Mutter. Recent highlights include his debut with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and appearances with the BBC Philharmonic and St. Petersburg Philharmonic orchestras, playing Schumann’s cello concerto with the HR-Sinfonieorchester under Christoph Eschenbach, recitals at Schloss Elmau and the Mariinsky Theatre, and a European tour with Kremerata Baltica. Festival appearances include Verbier, Rheingau, Jerusalem, Trans-Siberian, Intonations and the Canary Island festivals. He plays the ‘Lord Aylesford’ 1696 Stradivarius violin thanks to the Nippon Music Foundation.
