Mohammed Hiber – Violin

Born in Paris in 1995, Mohamed Hiber began playing violin at the age of 7. He studied with Bertrand Cervera, and with Svetlin Roussev at the Paris Conservatory and is currently studying with Ana Chumachenco at the Reina Sophia Royal School of Music, Madrid, where he was awarded prizes for best student and best quartet. Other awards include first prizes at the ‘Violin of the North’ (Siberia) and Flamme competitions and 3rd prize at the Moroccan Philharmonic Orchestra’s International Music Competition (2017). Since 2010 he has been a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra. As a soloist he has appeared with orchestras including the London Symphony, Royal Chamber of Wallonia and Czech Philharmonic. A passionate chamber musician, Mohamed has played in major festivals, collaborating with artists such as Gautier Capuçon, Guy Braunstein, Daishin Kashimoto, Itamar Golan and Yuri Bashmet.
