Marina Prudenskaya – Mezzo-soprano
Born in St. Petersburg, Marina Prudenskaya studied under Evgenia Gorokhovskaja and Brigitte Eisenfeld. In 2000 she joined the Nuremberg State Theatre where she developed her repertoire. In 2003 she was a prizewinner at the ARD Music Competition. Her focus today is Wagner and Verdi. She has sung the roles of Fricka, Waltraute and Erda in The Ring at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and in Amsterdam. In 2010 she made her debut at La Scala in Das Rheingold under Daniel Barenboim, and that same year sang in Verdi’s Requiem with the Berlin Philharmonic under Mariss Jansons. She is a frequent soloist with the Berlin Radio Symphony, the Berlin Philharmonic and the Bavarian Radio Symphony orchestras. Current and future projects include Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis at the Berlin Staatsoper under Sebastian Weigle, Il Trovatore at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and Waltraute in Gőtterdämmerung at the Bayreuth Festival.
