Marc Bouchkov

Born in Belgium in 1991 into a family of violinists, Marc Bouchkov began studying with his grandfather Mattis Vaitsner, continuing with Claire Bernard, Boris Garlitzky and Mihaela Martin at the Kronberg Academy. Prizes include First Prize at the Montreal International Violin Competition (2013) and the Silver Medal at the Queen Elizabeth Competition (2019). Bouchkov has performed with orchestras including the Frankfurt Radio Symphony under Eschenbach, the Royal Concertgebouw under Jansons, and the Mariinsky under Gergiev. In 2014 he performed at the inaugural concert of the Concertgebouw Orchestra’s ‘Essentials’ series. He gives recitals in the world’s most prestigious halls and is a keen chamber musician. In 2017 his first recording was awarded a Diapason Découverte, and in 2018 Gramophone featured him as ‘One to Watch’. Bouchkov is a Professor at the Conservatoire Royale de Liège. He plays a Bergonzi violin (1744) on loan from Edwulstrad RMIC Ltd.
