Lidia Baich – Violin

Regarded as one of the most fascinating and versatile violinists of the young generation, Lidia Baich wins audiences by exciting performances and intense interpretation.

The Austrian who was born in St. Petersburg received her first violin lessons from her grand-father and studied with Boris Kuschnir in Vienna. Aged eight she won her first international competition, followed by more first prizes including the Grand Prix d‘Eurovision and the title „European Musician of the year”.

Lidia Baich is performing in the worlds leading concert halls with conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Kristjan Järvi, and orchestras like New York Philharmonic, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Bavarian Radio Orchestra and many others.

A passionate chamber musician, Lidia plays with partners like Nobuko Imai, Aleksey Igudesman, Boris Giltburg, Matthias Fletzberger and members of the Vienna Philharmonic.

Lidia has released recordings on the Deutsche Grammophon label; since 2014 she is Professor at the Music and Arts University Vienna.
