Li-Kuo Chang – viola

Li-Kuo Chang has been Assistant Principal Viola of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, appointed by Sir Georg Solti in 1988. He has appeared as soloist with orchestras around the world, including the Chicago Symphony under Pinchas Zukerman playing Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto no. 6. In chamber music Chang has collaborated with artists such as Daniel Barenboim, Pinchas Zukerman, Yo-Yo Ma and Christoph Eschenbach. He was on the faculty of the Chicago College of Performing Arts, and the Peabody Institute. Today he is a faculty member of the Bienne School of Music at the Northwestern University. Many of his students have won positions with major orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony, Lyric Opera Chicago, Philharmonia (London), St. Louis and Detroit orchestras.
