Founded in 2000 by outstanding instrumentalists trained in the French tradition, the members have achieved international recognition as soloists, chamber musicians, orchestral players and post-graduate teachers. They aim to introduce woodwind masterpieces to a wider audience. Their interpretations demonstrate how individual talents can be blended in the performance of ensemble music, achieving a wide range of colours, dynamics and styles. Ranging from two or more performers, the ensemble adapts according to the repertoire. Les Vents Français have toured Europe and Asia, with a residence in Domaine Forget, Québec, Canada. They continue to develop the repertoire by commissioning new works by great living composers such as Escaich, Pécou, Connesson, Jarrell, Mochizuki, Tanada, Waxman, Rivet, Hersant, and Sakai. Their highly praised recordings include the complete chamber music by Poulenc on RCA, and three albums on the Warner Classics label. Coming in 2016-2017: Beethoven’s chamber music works and Hindemith’s Sonatas.
