Itamar Leshem – horn

Born in Rehovot, Itamar Leshem began playing the horn at age 12. He studied at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, and at Roosevelt University, Chicago, under Dale Clevenger, supported by scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation. He plays regularly with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and recently performed with the orchestra as a soloist under Zubin Mehta, in Israel and on tours in South America and Europe. He is a member of the West-Eastern Divan orchestra, and also of the Israel Symphony Orchestra, Rishon leZion. A leading chamber music musician he plays in the Else Ensemble, an international chamber group of soloists. He has performed at prestigious festivals including the Salzburg, Lucerne, Proms, Jerusalem Chamber Music and Landsberg Chamber Music festivals, and in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Teatro Colon and La Scala. Recently in China he performed a Strauss horn concerto and gave horn recitals.
