Project Description

Guy Braunstein – Violin

Born in Tel Aviv, Guy Braunstein studied violin with Haim Taub, and later in New York with Glenn Dicterow and Pinchas Zukerman. From an early age he performed internationally as soloist and chamber musician, collaborating with many of the world’s greatest musicians, conductors and orchestras. From 2000-2013 he was concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the youngest musician ever to be appointed to the position. He retired in 2013 in order to pursue his solo career. Highlights of the past season include concerto performances with the Danish National Symphony, Orchestre National du Toulouse, Bournemouth Symphony and North Nederlands orchestras. He is increasingly in demand as a conductor and next season will conduct the Trondheim Symphony, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galica and the Hamburger Symphony orchestras.
