Gilbert Audin – Bassoon
Gilbert Audin is Solo Bassoon at the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Paris, and teaches at the Paris Conservatoire de Musique. He studied in Nîmes and at the Paris Conservatoire under Maurice Allard. He won prizes at the Geneva and Munich competitions, and first prize at the Toulon international competition. He performs worldwide as a soloist and gives masterclasses throughout Europe, Korea, Japan and Canada. He is a founding member of the Emperi Festival of Chamber Music, and of the wind ensemble Les Vents Français. His discography as a soloist includes concertos by Mozart, Françaix and Landowsky, chamber works by Mozart, Devienne and Bréval, and trios by Haydn and Devienne with Jean-Pierre Rampal. His recordings of French music with Les Vents Français include the complete works of Poulenc. Gilbert Audin’s upcoming disc now in preparation includes chamber music for bassoon by Beethoven, Hindemith and others.
