Dor Magen – Conductor

Born in Jerusalem in 1987, Dor Magen studied violin with Rashi Levaot, Avi Abramovich and Ora Shiran, trombone with Eli Aharoni and Mitchell Ross, and conducting with Evgeny Tsirlin, Avner Biron and Stanley Sperber. A member of the Meitar Ensemble’s ‘Tedarim’ project, Magen has conducted many premieres of works by fellow Meitar members, and various other pieces from the twentieth- and twenty-first-century repertoire. He has participated in masterclasses with conductors Pierre-André Valade, Yuval Zorn and Guy Feder, and has conducted the Meitar Ensemble in concert. In 2016 he conducted the premiere of  ‘Pyramus and Thisbe’, a chamber opera by Israel Sharon, and in 2017 the premiere of a chamber opera ‘Albert’ by Moshe Zorman, both in the International Masterclass of Vocal Arts (Jerusalem) for opera singers.
