Denis Kozhukhin – Piano
Born in Russia in 1986, Denis Kozhukhin began piano studies with his mother at age four, continuing at the Balakirev Music School under Natalia Fisch and in Madrid under Dmitri Bashkirov and Claudio Martinez-Mehner. On graduation he was named best student of the year, and best chamber group musician with his Cervantes Trio. He completed his studies with Kirill Gerstein in Stuttgart. Awards include the Queen Elizabeth Competition, Brussels, 2010 (First Prize), Vendôme Competition, Lisbon, 2009 (First Prize), and Leeds International Piano Competition, 2006 (Third Prize). He has performed at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and the Utrecht Chamber Music Festival, and with the Chicago Symphony, the BBC Symphony, the Hallé and the West-Eastern Divan orchestras. Recent appearances include concerts with the Vienna Symphony, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony, Royal Flemish, Royal Philharmonic, BBC Scottish Symphony, Bournemouth Symphony and Seattle Symphony orchestras.
