Chen Halevi – Clarinet
As a teenager Chen Halevi made his debut with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Zubin Mehta. Since then he has worked with orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Tokyo Symphony, Moscow Virtuosi, Jerusalem Symphony, Leipzig Radio Symphony, Hamburg Radio, Bayerischer Rundfunk and Deutsche Symphony Berlin orchestras. An acclaimed chamber musician he has performed with leading ensembles in festivals including Marlboro, Ravinia, Santa Fe, Schleswig-Holstein, Colmar, Davos, Rolandseck, Aldeburgh, Risor and Verbier. His devotion to contemporary music has led to premiere performances of new works, many dedicated to him by the composer. In 2007 he founded ClaRecords, aimed at supporting contemporary composers, and stimulating dialogue between different art forms in the 21st century. He is a member of Winds Unlimited, a period instrument wind sextet, and Tango Factory, four musicians who share a passion for tango music, old and new. He currently teaches clarinet at the Trossingen Musikhochschule, Germany.
