Benjamin Peled – Violin
Benjamin Peled, originally from Chicago, joined the first violin section of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Amsterdam, in 2006. In addition to playing as Guest Concertmaster for the Staatskapelle Orchestra, Berlin, and Daniel Barenboim’s West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, he has also served as Concertmaster of the Houston Symphony Orchestra. He is a founding member of the recently formed award-winning Alma Quartet, which has collaborated with artists such as Jean-Yves Thibaudet, and whose debut album of the complete string quartets of Erwin Schulhoff is due to be released later this year. Benny Peled has appeared at many prestigious chamber music festivals, including the Kfar Blum Festival, the Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival, and the Kleine Zaal of the Concertgebouw. A former student of William Preucil and Paul Kantor, he plays on a violin by J.B.Vuillaume, on generous loan from the Stichting Donateurs Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest.
