Born in 1989 in France to a family of musicians, Adrien began playing piano and viola at age 4. He studied with Jean Sulem, continuing with Tatiana Masurenko and Tabea Zimmermann. His many international prizes include the Primrose, Tertis and Brahms competitions. He has performed as a soloist with the Radio-France, Polish National Radio, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Capitole de Toulouse and Les Siècles orchestras. His acclaimed first album ‘English Delight’ (2016) for the La Dolce Volta label was Diapason d’OR, Radio Classique and Gramophone’s choice. ‘Heroes’, his second release with La Dolce Volta (2020), includes Walton’s Viola Concerto with the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, the world premiere of Grisi’s Viola Concerto composed specially for him, and Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, in its first recording for viola and orchestra. La Marca plays a viola made by Nicola Bergonzi (Cremona, 1780) on loan from the Boubo Foundation.
