Latica Honda-Rosenberg

Born to Croatian-Japanese parents, Latica Honda-Rosenberg studied with Tibor Varga and Zakhar Bron. In 1998, she won the silver medal at the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, paving the way for an international career which has won her accolades for the strength, eloquence and expressiveness of her playing. She made her debut as a soloist at the Philharmonie Berlin in 1989, performing with the Deutsches Sinfonie-Orchester Berlin and has since appeared as a soloist with major orchestras in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Czechoslovakia, Tokyo and Russia. Her CDs for the Oehms Classics label include works by Prokofiev, Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky with her recording of works by Bloch chosen by The Strad magazine as its CD of the Month. From 2003-2009, Latica Honda-Rosenberg was Professor of Violin at the Musikhochschule Freiburg and since April 2009 has served as Professor at the Berlin University of the Arts.
